If you’re shopping for Life Insurance for a 30 year old woman – you’ve come to the right place.
Buying a life insurance policy may not be on your mind when you are 30, but the truth is that this is a great time to sign up.
Life Insurance for women aged 30 years
At this point in your life, you have most likely entered a career.
This is also the time when many people these days are getting married and starting families.
While it’s unlikely that you will die anytime soon, the reality is that anything can happen and you need to be prepared.
If you’re a woman in your 30s, you have a variety of life insurance options—perhaps more than many people older than you.
Larger Total Coverage and Term
As you age, your coverage options become more limited. (See Life Insurance Rates by Age for additional details).
After all, someone who is 60 years old is unlikely to have dependents much longer (if they still have them), and the median age doesn’t look at 90 years old.
You, on the other hand, are half that age and have a much greater need for a 20 or 30 year policy.
Basically, you are much more qualified at this point in your life for longer-term and larger death benefit payments.
Since you are young and a woman, your rates will also generally be lower than those of an older person or a man.
Sample Life Insurance Rates for Women Aged 30 Years Old
Let’s say Jenna is a 30-year-old woman who is debating between a $250,000 term life insurance policy and a $500,000 policy.
He’s also not sure if he wants a 20-year or 30-year term. As a non-smoker who is in good health, he qualifies for the best rates.
Here are a few examples of what they are likely to offer him:
$250,000 policy for 20 years: From $12 to $25 per month
$250,000 policy for 30 years: From $16 to $35 per month
$500,000 policy for 20 years: From $19 to $31 per month
$500,000 policy for 30 years: From $26 to $39 per month
No Medical Exam Policy
You’ve probably heard that to get a life insurance policy, you need a health check.
However, this is not necessarily the case when you are 30 years old.
With American National and Fidelity Life, for example, you may be eligible for immediate approval for a $250,000 policy without having to undergo a medical examination.
Here are some sample no-examination rates for a $250,000 policy:
American Citizens: $25 a month for a 20 year term, $35 a month for a 30 year term
Fidelity Life: $37.63 per month for 20 years, $54.16 per month for 30 years
Now, the decision is whether you will follow the no exam policy or not.
Some of the advantages are that you can get approval very quickly (usually within one to two days with Fidelity Life) and you can get approval even with health conditions.
On the other hand, if you are healthy then you can get better rates with policies that do require a test.
In addition, if you have a pre-existing condition such as Crohn’s disease, hepatitis c or multiple sclerosis, you will need to have a medical examination.
And as you can see from the example above, rates are generally higher for no-test policies.
